This program provides child care subsidy to Kinship caregivers who have taken on the responsibility of caring for their relatives’ children. These children might be the caregiver’s siblings, nieces, nephews, or, most often, grandchildren. Eligibility determined by family size, employment and/or education hours, and income.

To be eligible for the Kinship program, kinship relatives present in the household must:

Household income must also meet the following requirements. Kinship caregivers who are under the age of 60 must have a family income that shall not exceed 350 percent of the federal poverty level. Kinship caregiver families in which one person is 60 years of age or greater must have a family income that shall not exceed 500 percent of the federal poverty level.  (click here for Income Eligibility chart)
